there
is never a dull moment! there is just so much to learn, so much
to grow and so much to tell! remember CAMPUS missionaries and
staff in your prayers! Blessed is the man who does
not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of
sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. Psalms 1:1
| well everyone...for those who are curious, we got here safetly...but it was quite the experience getting here! we left on monday, and i was a bit worried about what will happen when we get to the boarder. i couldn't possibly say "i'm visiting" (after those ethics classes)...so i printed out a copy of the invitation to CAMPUS and decided to tell the truth. but as we got there, we were stopped, and after i explained the situation, that i would be schooling here for a year, they directed us to this little building. we had to wait a long time, and they were asking us a bunch of questions, while others searched our car, and then they told me i needed an i20 visa, so until i got that...i cannot go through! in fact they took me to a seperate room, took my photo and all my fingerprints, incase i tried sneaking in. i told them this was a non-profit organization, but this lady directed us back to the car, and said "go back to canada, and stop wasting my time!"....so rude these officers! so we spent the night in a hotel,(holiday inn) exhausted, and after several phone calls to CAMPUS, they finally got everything resolved (after much prayer, the poor leaders had to stay up till late hours) and sent me the necessary documents. that in itself took a long time, because the printer was out of ink etc. but the next day, we were back waiting in that little building...again. so while waiting in line, my sister and i thought it would be funny to take pictures of me holding my yellow slip that said DENIED ACCESS TO STATES. but our camera was shortley confiscated by an officer, and he made us delete all our pics!... and after a long wait, we finally got the visa and that is how i got into the United States of America! (PTL!!!)
well...my thoughts on CAMPUS...definetly a challenging program. the speakers and leaders and students this year all all very hard working, dedicated and commited people, so i'm excited to be around like-minded students. we all have different expectations, yet the same goal...and that is to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!!! we have classes, projects, homework, (we even get graded), presentations to do..etc just like a regular school. colporteuring has been a very interesting experience...i'm starting to realize more and more what the difference between a book seller and a colporteur is. and from my experiences so far...the states is NOT easier than canada...it's really a mission field here!!
i've been learning so much, from the students and instructors, we've been having some really indepth Bible studies, where i'm discovering Jesus's character more and more. i have much to learn!!
and today i just came back from camping....my very first camping trip...but i had this sudden back pain...well i had it 2 years ago, but now it's back. i can barely walk, or do anything for that matter. i missed out on the hike, and sabbath school etc. SIGH. but i guess i can't complain because God allows trials and tribulations to come in order to teach us patience and to refine our character. plus, everyone has been very kind to me, helping me along the way and it's humbling when we look back knowing that Jesus had a cross on His back. so please pray for my back problems. i hope it doesn't deter me from my mission! but i must say, despite my physical issues, camping was fun...i loved singing by the fire place, in fact it even attracted 2 guys over, who commented on our singing, we talked, made friends, and we ended up giving them steps to Christ, and the Great Controversy. anyways, i'll try to update more often...i'll start putting up tips and sermons and Bible study notes, so that people can use them to evangelise where ever they are! well i wish i can write up the beautiful Bible study/sermon delivered to us by Dr. Pipim on our first Sabbath together, but my back ache just doesn't permit me to continue. miss you all, and though everyone went our seperate ways, we can all stay united in mission and through Christ!
oh man...i miss my mummy....
and michigan weather...they weren't kidding, it changes every 10 minutes, it rains...and then it's dry outside....so weird!

| it's so hard to go out and start the work...but once you go out there, it's so good...you forget all your personal problems and everything else for that matter!! today was another blessing. we went to the boons, a long strip of houses was before us…so we started knocking on the doors. It was a relatively poor area, but everyone needs to know Jesus right? Everyone was rejecting us, (nothing new ) with always the same problem…no money. (that isn't always the truth in many cases, but it WAS a poor area) And I must admit, I was getting a little cranky because I was hungry …I didn’t get much to eat, but we continued, and I was complaining to the Lord that I needed some money so I can buy some food!! I was physically drained…but we continued, and I looked down the road, and I knew there was someone somewhere who needed our books. and I found her, she took a great interest in our health books. she bought the foods and plants, and I was able to leave a magazine with her too. so there was ONE person on that entire street…there must have been like 60 houses, and only one invited us in. that doesn’t mean we didn’t leave any magazines, but only one person bought the books. (and i bought some food too! ) And then we turned into this small street out of no where, probably only 10 houses or less. I went to the first door, and this obnoxious guy was there, I tried to explain our health books, but he immediately said, he only ate “wieners” and that’s why he’s so healthy…flexing his muscles for me to see. I was like "whatever", and I continued the canvass, hoping he’ll realize how important the health is. but they kinda just laughed at me, so I went on. And the very last door, I saw a young mother, she couldn’t have been much older then me, but I noticed her 2 year old son. I was impressed to show them the children’s Bible, and she loved it. she told me how her in-laws were Jehovah witnesses, and other are Christians, and she needed something to start the kids off. so I manage to leave the bible for the kids and a copy of steps to Christ. I love meeting people who need our books!!! so I was so blessed, I didn’t think there was much potential in that street, but the Lord proved me wrong. There are always people out there who are searching and who are in need! But it started to rain, and so we were going to stop but instead the rain stopped. I asked to be dropped off on this street while my mom went grocery shopping. It was even poorer…but I met this man…he had greasy long hair, a dirty t-shirt on... not exactly the type of person one whould think would be interested in our books. but to my surprise, he was actually really listening to my presentation, and he was quite the gentleman. i was showing him my health collection, and he told me his 3 year old son had trouble peeing…and so they were feeding him aloe juice. I told him I was currently drinking it too, and shared some more info from the books to my best ability. I also took Angels out and started to show him that, and he told me his wife was just looking up angels on the internet the other day. and I showed him our kids collection, and I was sure he would take one, but he said he had "no money"…so I was like…ok. I left him my contact and went to the other door. but after a bit, the man actually came back to me, and told me to go see his wife…who wasn’t sleeping after all. He told her about the books, and they were interested. They invited me in, and his wife was so beautiful and pleasant! I was so happy, I showed her everything I had. She eventually decided on the health books because of her son. It’s sooooo wonderful when you meet people that are seriously in need of our books….it makes me feel like I accomplished something. The Holy Spirit was really working through this family and through me, I believe. I learned that people only look at the outward appearance, but God truly looks at the heart! How great is our God!!!! I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9 | | |
| what's up with this??! so we just had another car accident...our brand new 2006 honda accord...barely 2 months old...some lady backed into the rear end of our car! i cannot believe she didn't see my car...i mean there was ample amount of space!! we were out canvassing (expremely poor, run down street), and thankfully i didn't get far, because i heard this huge crashing sound and next thing i know there was a huge dent in my brand new beautiful car!! arghh! so we were calm about this, she said she was sorry, i asked for her info, and i ran like crazy to get my mom. and then she called her husband...who came ridding down on his little motor bike, all red faced, and then he starts screaming and cursing at us as if it was US that backed into HIS car and put a huge dent in it! i was furious, as he continued to curse us, saying he's so sick of people parked by his house (and we were NOT parked by his house, but across it! ) and how i come here to solicit, and so i tried to remain calm, explaining to him that i'm just a student volunteer sharing information on how we can improve our health, and he still blew up at me. and then i was beginning to loose it myself...sigh i wish i wasn't so passionate! i'm too expreme at times, but fortunately...i didn't say anything i regret. and i remained...somewhat cool...so we asked for their license, and the pig headed husband was like "i'm not giving it to you, you're not a police", and he rambled on and on about how it wasn't their fault (which clearly WAS their fault) and how MY insurance was suppose to pay for the damage etc. so we called the cops, which was the best thing to do, and finally got the info that we needed. ugh, what a hassle, now we have to get it repaired and who knows how long that will take. well i started to complain about all the bad things that were happening, but my mom told me to stay silent and just watch and wait for the Lord. but satan really delayed our work, but we still manage to dedicated the last hour for Him. we went to a different street, predominately catholic, and the most memoriable event was meeting this nice lady who told us she just went to visit the graveyeard to see her grandchild who died at 2 month. we managed to show her angels, and she was so grateful for it. praise God, that was all worth it. now i guess we have the insurance business to deal with...sigh. nevertheless, God is good all the time! Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me. (Psalms 40:!3)
